Shipping Information
PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY
SHIPPING AND DELIVERY POLICY
1. Business Customers Only
SVG SYNDICATE LTD supplies wholesale vintage and second-hand clothing exclusively to businesses, professional resellers and customers purchasing goods for commercial purposes.
By placing an order with us, you confirm that you are purchasing wholly or mainly for the purposes of your trade, business, craft or profession and not as a consumer.
2. UK Mainland Delivery
We currently offer an estimated UK mainland delivery time of 5–7 working days from dispatch, unless a different delivery estimate is displayed on the relevant product page or confirmed in writing.
Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Delivery may take longer during:
- sales and promotional periods;
- large product launches;
- exceptionally busy trading periods;
- bank holidays;
- severe weather;
- courier disruption; or
- circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Orders are processed only after cleared payment has been received and all required delivery information has been supplied.
3. Couriers
We use established delivery providers, including DHL, DPD, Parcelforce and other suitable courier or freight services.
We reserve the right to select the most appropriate courier based on:
- the delivery destination;
- order size and weight;
- parcel dimensions;
- service availability; and
- operational requirements.
Customers cannot require the use of a particular courier unless this has been agreed with us in writing before dispatch.
4. Contact Number Required
A valid contact telephone number must be provided with every order.
We will not dispatch an order without a valid contact number because the courier may need to contact the customer regarding delivery, access instructions or customs clearance.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that all contact and delivery information supplied is complete and accurate.
5. Tracking Information
Where tracking is available, a tracking number will be sent by email once the order has been packed and prepared for dispatch.
Tracking information may take several hours to become active after the parcel has been collected by the courier.
The customer is responsible for monitoring the tracking information and taking any action requested by the courier.
6. Delivery Times and Signature
Couriers will normally attempt delivery during standard business hours, generally between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. However, delivery times and routes are controlled by the courier and may vary.
A signature or other recognised proof of delivery may be required.
We cannot guarantee a specific delivery date or time unless a guaranteed delivery service has been separately agreed and paid for.
7. Delivery to a Neighbour or Safe Place
Where the customer instructs the courier to leave an order:
- with a neighbour;
- at reception;
- with warehouse or building staff;
- in a nominated safe place; or
- at another location selected by the customer,
delivery to that person or location will be treated as completed delivery.
SVG SYNDICATE LTD will not be responsible for loss or damage occurring after the goods have been delivered in accordance with the customer’s instructions.
Safe-place and neighbour delivery options remain subject to the individual courier’s policies.
8. Missed Deliveries
If no authorised person is available to accept the delivery, the courier may:
- make another delivery attempt;
- leave the parcel with a neighbour;
- deliver it to an authorised safe place;
- take it to a local collection point or depot; or
- return it to us.
The customer is responsible for following the courier’s instructions and arranging collection or redelivery within the time allowed by the courier.
9. Failed Collection and Returned Parcels
If the customer fails to collect a parcel, refuses delivery, provides an incorrect address or fails to respond to the courier, the parcel may be returned to us.
Where an order is returned for one of these reasons:
- the original delivery charge will not be refunded;
- the customer will be responsible for any return-to-sender charges;
- storage or handling charges may apply; and
- the customer must pay the full redelivery cost before the order is dispatched again.
If the customer does not wish to have the order re-dispatched, we may, at our discretion, refund the value of the goods after deducting the original delivery charge, return charges, customs charges, storage charges and other reasonable costs incurred by us.
10. Northern Ireland, Highlands, Islands and Remote UK Areas
We deliver to Northern Ireland and many remote areas of the United Kingdom. However, additional delivery charges and longer delivery times may apply to:
- Northern Ireland;
- the Scottish Highlands and Islands;
- the Isle of Man;
- the Channel Islands;
- offshore islands; and
- other areas classified as remote by the courier.
Customers should contact us for a live delivery quotation before placing an order where a rate is not available at checkout.
Estimated delivery times for these areas will be confirmed separately and may be longer than our standard UK mainland delivery estimate.
11. European Union Delivery—No Import Charges on Delivery
Eligible orders delivered to European Union destinations are normally shipped using a Delivered Duty Paid service.
This means that, where the order is confirmed as duty-paid:
- applicable customs duties are paid by SVG SYNDICATE LTD;
- applicable import taxes are paid or accounted for through our delivery arrangements;
- standard customs-clearance charges are included; and
- the customer should not be asked to pay additional import charges when the order is delivered.
This service is designed to provide European Union customers with a simpler and more predictable delivery experience.
The words “no import charges on delivery” mean that applicable import charges are included in the amount charged or are paid through our delivery arrangements. They do not mean that the goods are legally exempt from all customs duties or taxes.
Our duty-paid service applies only where it is expressly confirmed:
- at checkout;
- on the invoice;
- in the shipping quotation; or
- in the written order confirmation.
Certain remote areas, overseas territories, special customs territories and destinations outside the standard European Union customs or VAT area may be excluded.
If a courier unexpectedly requests an import payment for an order confirmed as duty-paid, the customer should contact us before making payment so that we can investigate.
Charges resulting from incorrect information, refusal to cooperate with customs, storage, failed delivery, unauthorised delivery changes or the customer’s own actions are not included.
European Union business customers remain responsible for their own business accounting, tax returns, VAT recovery and other local reporting obligations.
12. European Union Delivery Times
European Union delivery times vary depending on the destination, parcel size, customs requirements and courier service.
The estimated delivery period shown at checkout or stated in the shipping quotation begins from the date of dispatch, not the date on which the order was placed.
Customs inspections, security checks and requests for additional documentation may delay delivery.
13. Rest of the World
The average estimated delivery time for international orders is 12–15 working days from dispatch, but some destinations may take longer.
International delivery times are estimates only and may be affected by customs clearance, local courier networks, public holidays, border procedures and other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
14. Customs Duties and Taxes Outside the European Union
Unless we expressly confirm that an international order is being delivered on a duty-paid basis, orders sent outside the United Kingdom and European Union will normally be delivered on a duty-unpaid basis.
The customer will be responsible for:
- import duties;
- import VAT or sales tax;
- customs-clearance charges;
- brokerage charges;
- local handling fees;
- storage charges; and
- any other charges imposed by the destination country or courier.
These charges are not included in the product or delivery price unless we expressly confirm otherwise in writing.
Customs requirements and charges vary between countries. Customers should check the applicable rules with their local customs or tax authority before ordering.
We cannot guarantee the amount of import duty, tax or customs charges that may be imposed by another country.
15. Customs Information and Cooperation
International customers must provide any information reasonably required for customs clearance, including where applicable:
- a valid business name;
- telephone number and email address;
- company registration information;
- VAT or tax number;
- EORI number;
- importer identification number; or
- other documentation required by local authorities.
The customer must respond promptly to requests from us, the courier, customs authorities or customs agents.
SVG SYNDICATE LTD will not be responsible for delays, storage charges, seizure, return or additional costs caused by the customer:
- providing incomplete or incorrect information;
- failing to provide required documentation;
- failing to respond to a customs request;
- refusing to cooperate with customs clearance; or
- failing to pay charges for which the customer is responsible.
16. Incorrect Delivery Information
The customer must check the delivery address before submitting the order.
We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order has been processed or dispatched.
Any additional cost resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address, postcode, telephone number, business name or customs detail will be payable by the customer.
17. Split Deliveries
Large wholesale orders may be divided into several parcels, pallets or separate consignments.
Different parts of the same order may arrive on different dates. Receiving only part of a split shipment does not automatically mean that items are missing.
Customers should check all tracking numbers before reporting a shortage.
18. Receiving and Inspecting Deliveries
The customer must inspect the external packaging at the time of delivery where reasonably possible.
Any visible damage should be recorded on the courier’s delivery record before the goods are accepted.
The customer should photograph:
- the external packaging;
- courier labels;
- seals;
- any visible damage; and
- the condition of the goods.
Any shortage, delivery damage or missing parcel should be reported to us as soon as possible, preferably within 48 hours of delivery, so that we can raise a claim with the courier.
The customer must retain all packaging and affected goods until the investigation has been completed.
Reporting an issue after 48 hours does not automatically remove any right that cannot lawfully be excluded, but a delay may prevent us from making a successful courier claim.
19. Delivery Completed
Delivery will be treated as completed when the order is:
- signed for at the delivery address;
- accepted by an employee, representative, warehouse operative or other person at the address;
- delivered to a neighbour or safe place authorised by the customer;
- collected from a courier depot or collection point; or
- otherwise recorded as delivered in accordance with the customer’s instructions.
Risk of loss or damage passes to the customer when delivery has been completed, except where different written delivery terms or agreed Incoterms apply.
20. Delays Outside Our Control
We will not be responsible for delivery delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:
- customs inspections;
- border disruption;
- courier delays;
- industrial action;
- transport disruption;
- severe weather;
- natural disasters;
- war or civil disturbance;
- government restrictions;
- security incidents;
- incorrect customer information; or
- failure by the customer to cooperate with delivery or customs requirements.
Where a significant delay occurs, we will use reasonable efforts to obtain information from the courier and keep the customer informed.
21. Working Days
“Working days” means Monday to Friday, excluding public and bank holidays in England and any public holidays affecting the courier or destination country.
